Trailer for le Carre's 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy'

This looks exciting: Director Tomas Alfredson has assembled just about every good British actor working today--Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Toby Jones, John Hurt, Benedict Cumberbatch--for an adaptation of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, the 1974 British spy novel by John le Carré.

Here's the summary for the novel from Wikipedia:

George Smiley is a middle-aged, taciturn, perspicacious intelligence expert in forced retirement. He is recalled to hunt down a Soviet mole in the "Circus", the highest echelon of the Secret Intelligence Service. In keeping with le Carré's work, the narrative begins in medias res with the repatriation of a captured British spy. The background is supplied during the book through a series of flashbacks.

The movie has been playing festivals, and will hit wide release on Dec. 9.
