Bunker's DOG EAT DOG Comes to Silver Screen

Variety reports: Edward Bunker's Dog Eat Dog will be the subject of an upcoming film, starring Nicolas Cage and Willem Dafoe.

The film will be written and directed by Paul Schrader, best known, as a director, for films such as American GigoloMishima: A Life in Four Chapters, and Cat People. Scrader is also known as the screenwriter for Taxi Driver (and several other Scorcese films); he was also written screenplays for directors like Brian DePalma (Obsession) and Peter Wier (Mosquito Coast).

The story involves a trio of ex-cons, a botched kidnapping, and an escape through LA's seedy underbelly--perfect fodder for Schrader, Cage, and Dafoe.

Scrader has worked with Cage and Dafoe before (see 2014's Dying of the Light and 1992's Light Sleeper, respectively), but this will be the first time all three have been involved with a project. And, with Bunker's fantastic noir as the basis, we expect great things.
